Oh excuse me. You asking about it every day and asking if they are even working on it is not being childish is it? Grow up and leave this thread alone unless you have something positive to add to it. I'm sick of impatient children ruining perfectly good threads in this forum.
Yeah it'll come soon enough, its not even been out a full week yet. I'm sure they'll do everything possible to gain root access and i personally am very grateful for their efforts and sacrifices.
FWIW, the Desire was released on 4/1... it was rooted on 4/28.everyone is probably just anxious because the desire was easy to root and most assumed the incredible would be the same. I too am very grateful for these people spending their free time doing such great work, but I would like some type if status. not looking for anything major, just maybe a "hey, we've tried 3 exploits and all are a no go" or something like that.

The best way to get updates is usually at XDA or in the irc room. From my experience CDMA phones generally take longer to root as they might not attract as many devs since they are carrier locked and us only. If this thread gets to OT use the report button and a Mod can clear up the junk.

The Incredible was released 4/29. Following that logic, we need to wait 20 more days before complaining![]()
Fair enough. My bad for misunderstanding you.oh I agree, these things take time... allow me to rephrase. people assumed the desire root method would work for the incredible and haven't yet accepted the fact that the incredible is a very different animal. hope that clears up my position.

I appreciate all the hard work to root this phone. I'm looking forward to Wifi tethering with barnacle again once this is finished. I like to tether to my ipad and barnacle is the only way I know of....
when this is rooted, will it keep all the same features of the OS? Like will sense UI still be included and everything?

Having root is basically like being the "administrator" on windows or... as the name suggests "root" on a *nix system. So you pretty much are at will to install, uninstall, change anything on the phone. Naturally the phone has some of its settings/applications locked so that you dont inadvertantly uninstall/install something that may be harmful/enable something that the carrier would prefer you pay for.
So yes, having a rooted phone would essentially be the same exact phone with a little less restraint on what you can do.
