root lg phoenix without useing phone

i tried updating my phone and while in the process my computer crashed and left my phone in (emergency mode). so then turned the phone of and on again. now when i turn on my phone a box comes up and says settings has stopped unexpected. is there a way to root the phone without using the phone?, and if i do root this will my problem be fixed?
