Root root my sequence phone

Wow, that was ridiculously easy! Thank you so much for that awesome tool, junkie2100! One more question though. I would like to start putting different roms on my phone. Which version of cwm should I get, the standard or the touch?

Either or it really doesnt matter, but if your new to this, roll with Touch. It'll be easier for you to work with.

And dont forget that when you flash a new ROM, you also have to flash the gapps package that goes with it.

which one would you prefer? touch is easier to read, and its got touch control. standard is safer because there is less chance of you accidentally pressing something. they both work the same though

Thank you for the quick reply. Are there any roms that you would recommend? I would prefer one that's complete but if there are a few things not working then so be it. I just want to get rid of stock b09!

Right now I'm using CM10. Its fantasic so is Shins AOKP. The 4.2.2 ones are getting tweaked and fixed right now. It all depends on what you want to use it for. If you need things like camera your gonna want to go with Awesome Android. If you wanna get to 4.1.2, CM10 is my recommend.

The new ones are appealing and I'm positive they will fix the bugs shortly. PG's on it right now.

Message me if you want specifics. or more info.

I went to install cwm touch. I chose fastboot method and it started working. The phone started to reboot, then I got an error message on my computer saying "the process is taking too long. check the drivers" I hit okay. That was about 40 minutes ago and my phone is still stuck on the little green guy. What should I do?

I ended pulling the battery after an hour and a half and it booted up fine thankfully.

its in fastboot mode but you dont have fastboot drivers properly set up. you can check that you have the driver package pointed to by my tool, if so you can then try to manually force the drivers which has been covered in a couple different threads but i dont remember exactly which ones, something about superuser with no root if memory serves

there is also the terminal method option, that will not require you to mess with the drivers at all as long as you are rooted

either way though you will have to pull the battery out to restart the phone but dont worry theres nothing wrong with it, that is what bootloader/fastboot mode looks like

sorry bout that i been working on cm and i cant really test while on the internet since the phone i work on and my means of a connection are the same thing. like i said in the last post though that is just what fastboot mode is supposed to look like, it was waiting for commands but the computer wasnt set up right so it never got any

side note, it not being set up right is not your fault, this is not some sort of accusation that you did something wrong. certain usb chipsets and certain versions of windows have issues automatically installing the fastboot drivers. there is no warning, no way to tell at all till you see that its not working and actually go into the device manager and check, then you have to manually force install the driver

Terminal method worked flawlessly, thanks! Now to go flash and try out some roms!
Update: Everything went smoothly and I am now running awesome android! Thanks for all the help guys! And special thanks to all the devs!! Your work is much appreciated.

I tried just about everything I could yesterday to figure that out. Out of my wheel house for now. And way to much school work to give it the attention it deserves. Well both actually.
