Root Root noob and apps

I read 50 pages and didn't see this anywhere...

Now that I am newly rooted what are top 10 must have?

I am keeping my phone with the stock ROM using ADW launcher. I removed the bloat and I love my phone again.

I have titanium

Need a good screen shot app that doesn't require a pc
A good reboot phone app

The other 8 is ur call

Try Shoot me for screenshots. They seem to have taken it off the market for some reason. attached is the apk.

For reboot try Quick Boot. You can place a reboot shortcut on your home screen if you like. Works very well

The only root required apps that I used are Titanium Backup, Root Explorer, Cache Cleaner NG, and Quick Boot (if the ROM did not expose a reboot command in the long-press power menu). You don't necessarily need Root Explorer, but it's handy if you want to do something like delete the camera click sound. I doubt that a cache cleaner app is required for a high storage, high RAM phone like the D3.

Root Explorer/Browser I think Root Browser is free.
screenshot That's its exact name. For me, it's been the best with no SU granted strips in screenshots.

Screenshot.... does it make it so u can take a screen shot with one of the d3 buttons? Or 2 buttons at the same time? Many I've seen make u shake the phone. But I noticed it is constantly taking pics then.

Are you on your computer of your phone right now?

If not on your phone, get on it and click on the apk I posted right from your phone. It will then download to your phone.

If it doesn't automatically install, go to a file manager like Astro, and find the apk you downloaded in your downloads folder. From there you should be able to install it.
 
Also, before you do that, go to Menu-settings-applications and make sure UNKNOWN SOUCES is checked. Otherwise it wont let you install it.

I'm not sure if it has more triggers, but I always use a count down timer. Usually 5 or 10 seconds, but there are many more options. I've tried ShootMe, DroCap, etc. and this is my favorite and most reliable. Although, the one build in to Liberty3 ROM is pretty good, as well.

edit: i used my BROWSER to get to this site via cell now and i can download the file. the phandroid app won't let me click on links (hope they fix that)

Note: Shoot Me is a shake to take a pic app. Every image i take is of the screen all messed up. Bah. lol

Downloaded Ad Free just now. This rooting thing is pretty darned cool! I love that my bloat is gone, and my phone is WAY more stable now. (downloaded ad free and i still have ads in WWF)

I've been using the TRIAL of Screenshot It and it's freaking awesome. But the full is $3.99. Debating on buying it. I love it!! downloading shoot it right this sec!
 
yup as long as I don't use the forum APP, I can click away! So it's installed. I will practice using it so my pics come out nice :) I missed taking screen shots!
 
How do you take a screenshot in an app with that? I tried that one which is why I posted. Is there one u can hold down search?
 
I removed ad free. I still have ads in game. It says it only blocks browser ads but i never had ads there . Oh well.

That camera click sound is driving me nuts. I have turned off sound on all notification points (so I think) but still the phone clicks and clicks all night. I am rooted, I have root explorer -- would you please tell me what settings to use to erase the click? (I'm a bit noobie.)

I'm not Droid 3 rooted, but on my old phone, you'd use Root Explorer to navigate to /system/media/audio/ui/, make the directory read/write, and either delete or rename the file camera_click.ogg (I usually rename it to camera_click.old, just in case I need or want it back.)
 
So I've had Shoot It (or shoot me forget the right name) for a few weeks. I do not like this app at all! It never auto runs so I could be in the middle of something, want a screen shot, and when I go to open the app, the thing I was working on is now gone. I need a screenshot app that is there when i need it like the iphone.

Gonna suck it up and buy Screenshot It for 3.99. that app adds an option from the search button when you hold it down.

Since I'm stuck with this phone for another year and a half, it wont be a waste.

Have you tried Liberty3 rom?
With this rom, you hold down the power button and one of the options is screenshot, along with reboot, silent mode, etc. I think this is exactly what you need... there when you need it.;)
