Ok so i followed shinysides beginners guide to rooting, I did EXACTLY as it said, internet usb mode, debugging enabled, 100% battery, downloaded and clicked the right file. The command promt came up and reset the phone three times then said my phone had root access but it still doesn't! Help plz :(

Ive given him every package we have...

OP I forgot to send this one to you this morning. Try this one, Same deal, and just double click the file that says run

You are right clicking and extracting the zip files right?

And if that one dont work Ima have to ask and make sure your phone is actually an Esteem :D

honestly the easiest way "I" find.. is to use PG's AIO, but replace the cwmrecovery.img with the one from MT's AIO, does it all for ya, root, recovery etc.. and that version of cwm has a power off option (which i LOVE)

or you can use the aio mentioned above but it does not install recovery so you need to get it from rom manager or something.... but i personally dont like the new cwm... too flashy and not enough options

alright wonderful the root worked :D, now what's the next step?

Nice!

Run the CWR package I gave you yesterday night and install CWR. As soon as you are done with that, make a back up in recovery (reboot into recovery witht hat quick boot app) and make a back up. Do NOT reboot into recovery with that app until AFTER you have cwr installed first

my phone still seems to work, does that mean I'm good?

and..wheres the cwr file you mentioned i should download?

alright while im waiting for cwm to install, i noticed that that quick boot app has four options, reboot, recovery, bootloader, and power off, which one do I need to press?

alright finished :), but do i need to check if cmw is already installed on my phone just to be sure of it, before i do the recovery?

Stuck again....on step 2 of the backup proccess in your guide. I clicked backup and restore, then clicked backup and now a message pops up on the bottom saying "can't mount backup path"
