Root Root not sticking

I finally got a chance to try this method and it worked! After doing this I booted into the Bootloader and it says S=OFF!!!

Yes, I am rooted now and have installed Cyanogenmod7 ROM on my phone. If you have S=OFF you should be rooted and able to install a custom ROM or modify your phone anyway you like. I used the method I quoted in my post to root my phone.

To check and see if you're rooted, install the terminal emulator app from the Market and type su
if the prompt changes to a # sign then you are rooted.

this is EXACTLY what i am trying to do but i CANNOT root. i have tried everything and im so pissed off.

1. Do you want to install a custom rom or remove bloatware or both
2. Do you have s=off?
3. What happens when you type su into terminal emulator? (ie. The prompt changes to a # sign, or it requests super user permissions) terminal emulator can be downloaded from the market.
