Root Root phone???????

Hi I have an HTC Wildfire S 2.3.4 and i need to be rooted. but i dont get the whold adb or sdk downloading thing. can somebody give be broken down step by step instructions on the easiest possible way to root the phone? ive tried Z4 root and it doesnt work worth a shyt. this is my first android phone and i would greatly appreciate it if someone could help. #Noob

Suggestion: Search the Wildfire S - All Things Root forum as there are guides just for noobs. What's important isn't your phone's software version but your carrier, model (ie, A510e) and if you have to update your HBOOT, its part number (something like PG76x00 as found under the battery).

and i still dont understand. i literally need step by step instructions. i dont know what a diag file is or how to unrar it.

Google winrar or free rar extract frog and use that to unrar the diag files. They are files attached in the guide for virgin mobile cdma phones to s-off
