Hi, new to this part of the forum so sorry if this has been asked a million times---
I'm planning on getting my mom a D3 for the Holidays. She's been begging me for a smart phone for a while now and I think she's ready - she needs a physical keyboard and loved my OG so I thought a D3 would be perfect with its larger screen. I'm getting a Gnex myself so I am thinking she will want ICS on her phone as well. I think the font will be easier for her to read and the magazine style contacts will appeal to her as well.
And here is the tricky part - I haven't rooted any of my android before so I'm a little nervous. I've been reading over this forum to start to get an idea how the process will be. I'm planning on using the method in the sticky - on a Mac. But I'm not sure what ROM to use or if there is one for ICS yet (or if there will be one soon)?
I'm also wondering about ways to lock certain functions - think like a child lock or computer nanny. My mom has a nack for getting malware and other nasties on her devices.
Sorry for the long post!
Any tips you experts can give would be appreciated though!
