Root Root Questions

Close.

If you return to stock and get the OTA update you will get the new antenna version and hboot as well. But you won't be able to re-root using unrevoked. Rather, you'll have to download clockworkmod and superuser and install them via the recovery. unrEVOked has instructions on how to do this on their forever page: public:forever [RootWiki] scroll down to the bottom and look at "Reinstalling an official recovery."

But why do that? Why not download the antenna update and a 2.2 ROM. There are ROMs that are now available on xda that are based off the official 2.2 stock update. Check out:
[ROM] Incredible Sense/Froyo v3.21.605.1 *Official Release* (100% stock, rooted) - xda-developers and
[ROM] Virtuous v2.3 (8/29/10): Stock Sense/Froyo v3.21.605.1 w/Fixes & Enhancements - xda-developers

The second is basically stock, with the most obnoxious bloatware removed (really, it's just moved to a different directory) and a few minor enhancements. There's no need to return to stock and get the OTA with these ROMs.
