Root Root questions

Lurker
I just rooted my HTC DINC2 and I have a few questions:

1. What is the best app to use to backup my original ROM?
2. What is the best app to manage ROMs?
3. Currently running Gingerbread 2.3.3 can I upgrade to a new version of Gingerbread or higher? If so, where can I find the RoM?
4. Any ideas on the best app for backing up apps and data?

Any other pointers and tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

make a nandroid backup with your custom recovery. i personally prefer amon recovery over clockwork.

2. What is the best app to manage ROMs?
again, falsh roms and restore backups with your custom recovery. apps such as rom manager, boot manager, etc. are apps in a working rom,and as such will not always be available for you to use. it is much safer to manipulate the OS on your phone from your dedicated recovery partition, rather than an app in a rom.

roms can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1141

i use titanium backup paid version. many people prefer my backup pro. there are free versions of both so you can try them out and see if one UI clicks with you over the other, they are both good apps.

wich ever you prefer, the paid/pro version is well worth it,as you can do batch backup and restores, saving yourself alot of headache when installing new roms :)

other than that, just read and research, post up if you have questions. theres a ton of good info here in the forum :)
