Root S2 on Three

Hi folks.

Apologies for the lame first post.

I am thinking about rooting my New S2 on Three [Ireland], and have been reading the Idiots guide, which is very self explanatory, however, for the life of me, i do not know which rom i need to use with Odin.

I am currently running ICS 4.0.3 and the Kernal version is 3.0.15-I9100XXLPQ-CL223505 se.infra@SEP-94 #3

I have been trying to understand which kernal i need to download but am at a complete loss.

Could some kind soul please throw me a 'very' big bone to help me out.

Also, the advantages of rooting appear to be endless, but would i expect any hassle from my network provider after rooting my cell.

Many thanks in advance.

CF-Root Download

The only hastle you'll get from your provider is getting it repaired under warranty as you've flashed an unrecognised firmware on the device.

Simple solution is to flash a branded stock firmware back using checkfus
located at The webversion of Check Fus 2.0. Load it up and then select on the right hand side

Android
GT-I9100
Ireland (Three)

Click on check firmware and then download

This will allow you to download stock android which can be flashed using Odin.

Ian.

Many thanks for the reply.

I now have root access, phone unlocked and all the bloatware [stock] apps that shipped with the phone removed.

Titanium pro installed, jig dongle ordered and extremely happy.

Kudos to you my friend.

Thanks again.
