I'm making this thread for questions about root, or anything you want.

I personally won't be answering all your
questions, I'm a noob. But I'll do what I can. This is OPEN to who ever. So if you see questions you know the answer to feel free to answer them.

- I'm making this thread to prevent duplicate threads and silly questions, and also to keep our ROM threads uncluttered.

Feel free to to clutter this thread :D ask anything.
 
Question. My phone is the boost mobile design. Its rooted. I have been freezing some of the HTC apps. Any way may have gone to far. Problem is I can call out. But I can't receive any calls. Now I'm getting a request to update my profile. So two questions. Will updating profile affect root? And could the profile have anything to do with not getting calls.? Thanks..

No it will not effect root. 2nd yes it COULD but it doesn't mean it necessarily what's causing the problem. All I can say is to update it. If that doesn't work try hard resetting it.
 
Thanks for reply. Let that update come through. Still not working. Looks like I will have to use a Nan backup. Will start from there and pray I can get calls when I do the backup. Love, hate sense..lol. wish there were a way to get 4.0 on this phone. Everything I've read is its much lighter to run. Well I'll be getting a new phone if 4g rumors turn out to be true... will see.
 
No I have not. But again will that effect root? If not, I will give it a go. Otherwise tonight I'm just going to use a Nan backup.
 
I just switched from a warp, have rooted my boost evo with stock rom. Love ICS, hate sense. But it's still better than the warp :-)

On the warp it was a big no-no to update the superuser app through the play store...the new superuser would not work. Is that the same with EVO? Phone says there's a new version of superuser, but I'm afraid to let it update...

Just run a custom rom! (: there really aren't many though :(

Are there any custom roms for the evo that are completely sense-less? I read through some of the threads and they all looked like they still had some sense in them (like notification area etc)

Try AOSENSEP2beta its pretty good. But jot COMPLETELY senseless. If there's sense in it its themed.
 
Hi there everyone, is there any senseless rom with GSM mode working? in my country this phone works with GSM only, ill be fine with only 2G and to make calls
