Root root, unroot, update, what do I do?? HELP

Just remember this one simple thing and it will save you a lot of heartaches.
Whenever you want to flash something, like a kernel, or a mod to a ROM that is in a zip file, YOU HAVE TO WIPE: Cache, AND Dalvik Cache, EVERYTIME!

That does not wipe any of your data, or your apps on the home screen, just the part of the ROM that stores specific information about how things are accessed, so if you put something new into the phone ROM, then dont let that ROM "Rebuild" the Cache and the Dalvik, then things get pointed in the wrong directions and everything screws up.

I hope that explanation helps you understand what you are wiping.

Also, Dont get too hung up on Kernels, they are cool and some are better than others, but at this point in the EVO life, all the kernels end up about the same in the end. If you want things to run fast, then you lose battery life, and if you want longer battery life, then things have to get laggy, there is not an in between.

One other thing, there are some ROMs out right now, that DO NOT flash correctly using Clockwork Mod recovery. You would have to install Amon RA in order for you to flash ANY ROM.

That is all I can think of for now.

WELCOME!!!
