Root Root w/o a HD Docking station?

Does anyone know if I can root my MoPho w/o having to use a HD Docking station? This is my first Android and I do not feel like dropping $100 for the station.

Not at this time. Do you have a Sprint Store that has the HD Dock set up already for display purposes? Just do what this fella did. And if anyone asks, just say that you wanted to play with the HD Dock using your own phone.

Just buy it, then return once rooted. Just don't bork anything up in system once rooted...as you'll have to re-root again after flashing the SBF!

That is messed up. Makes me chuckle to think about walking into the store to play with their dock. I just upgraded from an HTC Hero that I had rooted so I am interested to see the possibilities with the Photon.
