Root root with EC05?

Hello all,

I've searched the forums, but i haven't quite yet found the answer, so i was hoping you guys could help me out.

I was able to root EB13 with Super-One Click 1.5, will i be able to do root the same way (or actually any other way) once i update to EC05? I've been turning down the update for a few days now since i'm sure i'll lose root if i do.

Not familiar with "Super One-Click" but if it's anything like the Clockwork Mod (CWM) One Click, then rooting itself removes certain Sprint Apps. If you try and run the update, it will fail if any of the Sprint bloatware (Asphalt, Nascar, NFL, etc.) is missing.

I do know now that the CWM 3.0.0.5/6 does in fact work with EC05, but I cannot say the same about CWM 2.5. I would assume it works, but I haven't personally done it, so I'm not at liberty to tell.

If you root with CWM 3.0.0.5/6, then you should have an EXT4-based ROM ready to flash after rooting or you'll be stuck with nothing. If you're not into flashing ROMs, then stick with CWM 2.5 as it leaves your file system as RFS and you'll be good to go as you are now.
