if the above wont work, your best bet is to borrow a windows laptop,or possibly make a journey to a friends house that has a windows machine. the revolutionary and superuser files are small,so they download quickly, and are not intrusive. the whole process prolly takes 15 minutes at most. the couple of cases ive seen folks try and use an emulator to run unrevoked on a mac,it didnt work. revolutionary may be different,i dont really know, but my general thots are it doesnt interface with the phone quite the same. if you do try and get it working, definately let us know, maybe even make a write up for other mac users.
IMO revolutionary is so easy, its not worth spending
alot of time and fustration trying to make it work on the mac. heck-you could prolly root your phone at the library in a worse case
if you absolutely
had to use a mac, and wanted a challenge, the above linked procedure could work with some mods. the original exploits used to gain temp root will not work with gingerbread. however, there is a new root tool from alpha rev/unrevoked that could be used in place of some of the original steps to gain temp root. then you could rewrite the misc image and downgrade, and follow the rest of the guide to a T
again,tho... the manual root method is a bit tricky,so unless youre just a techy who enjoys tinkering, messing with adb,and doing things the long way, you are much better off simply borrowing a windows machine and running revolutionary.
