Root Rooted 2.2 to Rooted 2.3.4

Ok, my phone is currently running on 2.2 rooted, with s-off. Before, upgrading to 2.2 and then rooting was easy for me. After GB came out, I am totally confused by all of the threads. Is there a way for me to upgrade my rooted 2.2 to GB?? I've read this thread (http://androidforums.com/incredible-all-things-root/427344-2-3-4-root-downgrade-s-off.html), but I as understand it, it's for people who already have GB. Please help point me in the right direction if you can. Thanks!

Download a stock 2.3.4 rom from XDA. You don't have to worry about all the associated BS since you're already rooted.

Check this one out, it's what I use and recommend:

Also HIGHLY recommend the black dialer add on found in post #2 of that thread. Unless you're dead set on staying super close to stock, it's heads and tails above the stock dialer. In fact I'd easily call it the best dialer available for the Inc.

Download a stock 2.3.4 rom from XDA. You don't have to worry about all the associated BS since you're already rooted.

So if I do this, will I retain root with 2.3.4??

Never mind, downloaded and installed this ROM [ROM] Incredible Stock OTA [RLS2] [4.06.605.2] [Android 2.3.4] [8/17/11] [Fast!!] - xda-developers and it appears that all systems are go! Thanks!

What guide did you use to root? Did you use Unrevoked? I'm a noob to this and confused myself.
