Root Rooted, but bootloops on every rom

I rooted using the linux cd method, roots fine. I have rom manager, droid2bootstrap, and my superuser is workung fine. I installed cmw, I get into d2 bootstrap click recovery get siccess and su sllows access, then goto rom manager install droid x 2nd inuit cmw get successful instalation. Ive tried liquid ics, steel droid, and cm9. All three install and boot up, my problem is after the rom is installed if I rebbot or goto recovery it bootloops and I have to sbf using rsd lite and start all over. I gave up and left it alone, not im having withdraws from not having ics. Can someone help me out? What am I doing wrong, or what did I do wrong? I reslly wanna root it and be able to flash whatever I want and it function as it should no problems. I understand rooted rom have their own bugs thays fine I really like cm9, but cant get wifi to shut off, or scan for networks, I dont think my wifi works at all on cm9. Please some help me or lead me in tje right direction. Thanks in advance.

most roms have bootstrap/cwm preinstalled
use the shutdown option boot to recovery
installing d2 bootstrap on a custom rom, will cause conflicts

if you are not installing d2 bootstrap on custom rom, I'm not sure what problem is

Ok that's most likely my problem then. After I flash the rom I reinstall d2 bootstrap and Rom manager then put 2nd unit recovery. I didn't realize the recovery was built in to the Rom. Thanks for the reply ill try this out and let you know if it works for me.
