Rooted Droid, larger SD possible?

lol would if we could expand the sd storage past 32gb? that would be AWESOME!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Can you imagine how slowly our little Droids would access 64GB on an SD Card? I think it struggles hard enough with 32. Maybe the next Droid "superphone" will have enough plumbing inside to handle it...

A 2TB SD card... now THAT could handle some movies and music!

I have been hunting a larger card, down to 800 mb on mine... Several movies and a bunch of audible books really kill the space quickly. I found 32gb class 6 micro sd cards on ebay for $125. there are some sellers asking much less, but I'm betting those 32gb cards from china that are going for $ 12 are probably NOT worth getting....

I've been burned twice by counterfeit cards. Some of the counterfeiters are so good you can't tell the difference - I only was able to identify the fakes by querying the manufacturer with serial numbers.

My best advice is to stick to a reputable seller for flash memory (and still check the serial numbers).

HUGE no. 32GB MicroSD cards have only been available for 3-6 months, before that 16GB was the biggest you could get.

MicroSD cards will NEVER exceed 32GB, manufacturers have said that is the absolute maximum amount of storage space they can cram into something that's the size of a fingernail... totally understandable.

Since bigger MicroSD cards don't exist and WILL NEVER exist, you can't go bigger, period.

technology advances so quickly these days, I have no doubt that we are going to see 256GB microSD cards in the next couple years.(not afforadable at all, but possible) its crazy to think about that much storage in that small of a package, but TECHNOLOGY is amazing.

after that i have a feeling there will be some other kind of storage after that...most likely everything will be in the cloud and your EVO, or Droid X will be considered ancient :)

My claim was correct as far as Micro SD cards for the Droid. Micro SDHC cards cannot exceed 32GB. A new standard has been devised that can eventually accomadate up to 2 TB.
