Rooted Droid, Missing Some Gmail Options

Hi All,

I rooted my boss' droid last week and he's loving it other than he said he's missing some options. More specifically, I was forced to downgrade to 2.0.1 (or at least by the instructions I followed) to root. I then installed Simply Stunning which updated to 2.1 (I believe). My question is can I now update the system to gingerbread and still be using the ROM or is this not possible? If not gingerbread can I at least update to 2.2 somehow? One of his minor annoyances is that before in the gmail app he could select the top right to see all of his accounts, now he has to go into settings, accounts, then select it (minor issue but I said I'd try to solve it). I figured this was an update from 2.1 to 2.2. Thanks in advance

There are TONS of Froyo (2.2) roms out there for the droid that run incredibly well. LiquidFrozenYougart is my personal choice. CM6 (cyanagenmod 6) works great. There are GB roms for the Droid 1, they seem to work well, except for MS Exchange connectivity, (I don't know if this has been fixed yet or not).
