Root Rooted Droid - su permissions

xtremeIX

Lurker
I'm kind of a newbie here so bear with me as I walk through this. I recently rooted my Motorola Droid and gained access to the SuperUser; I know this because I saw the SuperUser Permissions icon. Once I accomplished that I downloaded the DroidRootHelper v8.0 and upgraded to the HTC 2.1. Once I did that I lost my SuperUser permissions so I rooted my Droid again and now I see the icon. However, when I open up the Terminal Emulator and type "su" I get an error that says, "Permissions Denied".
It looks something like this

/ $ export PATH=/data/local/bin: $PATH
/ $ su
Permission Denied
/$

Using term emulator, I'm getting a permissions denied when i try to run mountsys...AFTER it allows SU access.

Thoughts?
