[aleandras]

I rooted my Droid X.When I try to use the wifi tether , i get message Data link lost..Can anyone tell me how to fix this please. I have unlimited data plan. I used gingerbread, i did not sign up for anything.

please explain more, did you sign up for the wifi tether plan through verizon?

[aleandras]

I did not sign up for anything. When I click on mobile hotspot, my 3g turns white and then says 3g data link lost.

if you are not on the verizon mobile hotspot you cannot tether your phone

Do you have a question, my friend?

Do you have a question, my friend?

Only until I posted it and then realized I was having a 'senior moment', and answered the question myself. No way to delete a post, is there? This was my solution. I wasn't thinking wirelessly, and was going to ask why an app like Easy Tether would not work on the DX. Then it hit me you were talking about tethering a WiFi hot spot, and not the wired tethering I had seen done with such an app.

Here's a link to our Verizon forum sticky on Verizon's tethering policy:

http://androidforums.com/verizon/455585-verizons-official-tethering-policy.html

In there you'll find the details and a summarized paragraph of those policies.
