Root Rooted Evo and can't restore contacts

I rooted my mom's Evo for her and everything seemed to go okay. However, all her personal contacts are gone.

I went to People>View and made sure all were checked, but this only gave me the email addresses saved to my Gmail account.

I did a Nandroid backup before rooting and copied the backup to my PC (Windows Vista).

Here's what I've tried so far:

-Titanium Backup Pro restore - When I select to import from Nandroid, the window to choose which file to import is blank. There's nothing to choose from.
-Clockword Mod Recovery - Same as Titanium. There's nothing to choose to restore.
-Unyaffs - When I open the command prompt and type "unyaffs data.img" it tells me "open data.img failed"
-Droid Explorer - Only located my phone once and then crashed.

Is there any other way to restore the phone numbers?

When you said you did a nandroid backup before rooting, I am not clear on what you mean. Because a nandroid backup can only be done with a custom recovery on a rooted phone.
If none of her contacts were saved to google, or saved somewhere else before root, then they are likely gone. Were her contacts phone numbers saved on the phone memory I assume?

i think that this might help you:
