Rooted Hero/CDMA stuck on boot screen

Lurker
Rooted my Hero/CDMA/Sprint no problem with CWM Recovery and did a nandroid back up as well. Tried a couple of ROMs (AOSP Android 2.3 or CyanogenMod 7.1.) but with no success, only was able to get back to base settings. Also sucessfully restored my nandroid backup at one point as well. Not sure where it went wrong but the phone is stuck on the reboot screen (white/green HTC).

I am able to boot into recovery via VOL down button. Went through the usual steps:

+ wipe data
+ wipe cache
+ wipe Davlik cache
+ mounts/storage - wipe system/boot/cache
+ restore from nandroid backup (get a Restore Complete! Message)

Some other things noted while going through various process, hopefully will provide clues:

CWM Recovery

wipe data:
No app2sd partition found. Skipping format of /sd-ext.

Wipe Dalvik Cache
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
(Fie exisits)

backup and restore

Restoring data...
.android_secure.img not found.
Skipping restore of /sdcard/.android_secure.

Restore cache...
sd-ext.img not found.
Skipping restore of /sd-ext/.

Restore complete!

Any other things to try would be greatly appreciated, perhaps amore advance restore method?

Did you ever find a solution to this? I am stuck in RA-v1.5.2 recovery. I have loaded several ROMs from zip on sdcard and when i reboot it just sits on the HTC screen indefinitely. Any help you can offer would be awesome.

Thanks.!

I would advise flashing ClockworkMod Recovery instead. Amon RA Recovery used a different method for scripting which is what might be causing your issues.

You could restore your last stable Nandroid, and then boot into Android and then install ROM Manager. From ROM Manager you can flash ClockworkMod Recovery. Let us know if you need any further assistance on this matter. Cheers.
