Root Rooted LTE - Compass Issue (e.g, Star Chart)

Hello Eveyone...

I have an EVO LTE rooted running Viper 4G 3.X ROM. I seem to be having an issue with my "compass" I think. GPS is working fine but my two star gazing apps (Star Chart and Google Sky Map) are banged up. Doesn't correctly show what direction I'm looking at or declination in the sky when I move. Kinda moves very jagged and sometimes locks screen while moving.

I tried rebooting and reinitiating GPS, wifi and other "locator" services and no luck.

I couldn't find where or how to recalibrate the compass (if I can even do so on this phone)...how can I fix this??

Thank you!

Scott

Do you happen to use the navigation portion of GMapps?

Try and turn that on and see if it locks your position. If it accurately does, exit app. Then try your star maps.

Try the cache wipes Ocn mentioned for sure. :)

Nice! I have had this issue since my EVO 4G and for some reason it followed me to the LTEVO, too. Google Sky would be so far off I couldn't use it. Now I know I can use maps to get me pointing the right direction and then Sky works correctly!
