Help ROOTED!! now what??

so i finally got 4.4.2 in the phone, rooted with towelroot, and downloaded supersu...now what?? supersu doesn't let me do anything. I want to remove all the stupid crap verizon put on the phone and keep it from ever trying to update again. what exactly did rooting do for me? everything looks just the same..

Now it's rooted you should be able to remove the carrier bloat, that's one reason for rooting a device. Be very careful that you don't remove anything that's essential to the operation of the phone, otherwise it will have serious problems, and will have to be re-flashed. What Verizon phone have you got, because might be able to give you some better ideas of what you can do.

SuperSU is just part of the framework that allows you to grant/deny root access to other apps--in an of itself, SuperSU does not actually perform any normal root activities or functions for you--that's what other root-aware / root-enabled apps are for.

Things like Root Explorer, etc..

An oldie but a goodie:

also:

I would strongly caution against using your root capabilities without first have a full understanding of root and the pitfalls and consequences of doing something that could render your device inoperable (like removing the wrong file, etc.).

Download Titanium Backup from the Play Store. After you install it grant it Root Access and with it you can uninstall the bloatware. Be careful on what you uninstall.

There is an app called Uninstall, if you are rooted it can uninstall everything in your phone including system apps.

Before you start uninstalling anything, make sure you can take a backup or have a way of reinstalling the original phone software.

If you uninstall a system app which the OS believes to be critical, you could end up with a paperweight.

Why did you root in the first place?

I rooted for the sole purpose of dodging lollipop. removing some of the other crap would be great too since there are about 20 factory installed apps that i dont want anything to do with. if there is a simple way to go about avoiding lollipop, i'll do that and call it good.
