Root Rooted Optimus V goes to 3g on its own?

hi folks. I was noticing that if I have wifi on and also 3g is activated, when the screen locks it appears the phone chooses to switch to 3g.

I see that when I unlock the screen, the 3g next to the signal bars will be there for a split second and goes back to wifi as the screen unlocks.

Is this normal? the phone it rooted & runs clockworkmod.

PS. anyone knows a widget to toggle between "cdma only" and "cdma auto" quick? I have an app but gives me a bunch of options so making this switch means a few clicks & scrolls.

When the screen is off and phone is in sleep mode it kills the wifi and switches to 3g. When you wake phone up it switches back to wifi.

Go to your wifi settings and press the menu button. Select advanced then wifi sleep policy. You can choose how your wifi acts when you go into sleep mode.
