Root Rooted phone and missing bars

Hello, I am a noobie at messing with android phones. A while ago I rooted my LG Optimus V with Gingerbreak and everything worked fine. When I was deleting the bloatware on the system side I some how deleted the file that shows your reception bars on the notifications bar. I am running on Android 2.2.1. I don't know what file I need to get the bars back.

Phone details are as follows:

Model: VM670
Android Version: 2.2.1
Baseband Version: VM670ZV4_60401001
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9 lge@android-build#4
Build Number: FRG83
SW Version: VM670ZV4
HW Version: 1.2

Tried looking for app folder using Astro File Manager. Couldn't find it at all. Any suggestions? I do plan on putting on a custom ROM when I get this straightened out. Also, why of my recovery mode so basic, most help threads talk about deleting Dalvik cache and I don't gave that option.

Astro doesn't show system files, even if the phone is rooted. You will need Root Explorer or ES File Explorer. I'm not sure what you are looking for in an apps folder, but it probably won't help you get the bars back. I would recommend simply flashing back to stock, or going for the custom rom.

In the future, it's much safer to freeze the apps you don't want rather than delete them. That way if you inadvertently get rid of something that has negative impact on other phone processes, it's much easier to recover it.
