Root Rooted Phone last night, missing a feature?

So I did the perm root last night and it worked just fine with some tweaks as I'm on Win 7. I loaded a Rom located at [ROM] 03/31/11 PlayItCool1.1 - OC'd Kernel + Battery Saver, DarkTremor A2SD, Deodexed - xda-developers

The Rom seems fine, but on my other Evo phone (the big one I had a year or so ago) I had a nice feature that it would take the ads out of the apps. Now this may be a Rom feature I need to add but does anybody know how I can go about doing this or load it myself?

You can download AdFree from the market.. idk if it works on apps though. I have it installed on my phone and only see it work on the browser.

adfree does work on apps, although not all apps such as handcent
