Root rooted then clockwork mod and then no further

I purchased a Viewsonic G tab. I've rooted with Z4 root. That was successful. I initially temporarily rooted then permanently rooted. I installed clockwork Mod clockworkmod_recovery_2.5.1.3_2010121100. Then tried to install both TnT lite and cyanogen mod but could not do it. Whether I transferred a zip fill or an unzipped file it wouldn't install. I have since wiped my cache (hopefully I'm using the right descriptions) and now with the original TapNtap When I use ES file explorer I still see Zroot. When I hard reset I know clockwork mod is still there. Why can't I install the new ROM?

Where did you get that clockwork file? I suggest following these instructions instead.
