Root Rooted virgin mobile wildfire s now what?

hey all this is my first rooted phone, i rooted it to enable wifi hotspot and tehering. but i have a few questions

first up i used this guide

i started at step 4
i go the htcsuper tool and went with step 4a
once it said rooted i installed superuser,then went back and installed the wifi hotspot using htc super tool

while not necasary i figured i would liek to play with some other roms.

so i moved on to step 5b
i open the software and press #1
at this point it gives me 3 options
#1 root with clockworkmod
#2 root with rez

i try doing clockworkmod as per the guide

phone reboots to fastboot no problemit says sending recover but then says signuture failed and phone reboots
once the ophone reboots it shows a phone icon with a red triangle with an exclimation point and thats it
at this point i have to pull the battery and restart the phone

maybe one of u guys can help me out

alls id really like to do is remove some of the virgin mobile stuff from the phone to free up some space and maybe speed the phone up a lil bit

Does your phone use a sim card? If not (which I suspect is the case) then you have a CDMA phone and that guide is for GSM phones. Both of the ROMs referenced in the guide were for GSM phones and are not compatible on CDMA. You need to re-flash a CDMA ROM to get your phone operative again.

actually i didnt relize it but the rooting failed im actually trying to unlock the bootloader now and having one issue i made a post in ur thread to see if u would know what was going on
