Root [rooted] wireless hub problems?

i have a rooted evo with sprint service. recently i tried to access my wireless hub funtion. my laptop detects the andriod signal but displays limited connection on wifi networks detected. i also seem to get no internet connection when using this function. so the wifi apt is working but service is not being transmitted. of coarse i have internet service on phone. my question is, has anyone had this problem. was there a spring update that my have eliminated the service on a rooted phone?? i rarely use the tethering ability but its a nice feature.

That app has to be hacked to work without paying for the service. Are you using a custom ROM that has it hacked already, or did you install a hacked version? Just rooting will not make it work. You would need to install a third party tethering app for that.
