Stupid Q:

Will updating to 4.3 from PCC remove root?

I haven't tried PCC. Just started downloading it now...

Thanks!

Yes, and right now there's no exploit to reroot the 4.3 firmware. :(

Appreciate the response, Slug. I see the 10.4.b.0.569 in PCC. Good thing I haven't pushed through with the update.

I guess I'm waiting this out.

A follow-up to the previous post:

Rooted users on the generic UK firmware can update using [NUT]'s guide by substituting C6603_genericUK.flashable.10.4.B.0.569.zip for his C6603.flashable.10.4.B.0.569 file.

The other two files can be used as per the guide, but the genericUK.flashable.zip was built by myself from the official UK firmware update and will retain the correct region customisation, ensuring that future updates are available via PCC/OTA.

I can confirm that, by following [NUT]'s guide, my previously-rooted 4.2.2 handset was updated to 4.3 with root access retained and without any data loss i.e. all user-installed apps remain installed with data intact.
