Rooting a hero with revoked?

I have had my hero since April now and have finally decided to root to get rid of all the stuff i don't, use hopefully speed it up some, and maybe improve the battery. Well I was just on the revoked site and it told me to pick my phone then i downloaded a very small file no instructions. does anyone know if there are a different set of instructions or can I follow the EVO instructions?

yea its a CDMA sprint hero the file was an .apk

OK got it rooted and i have superuser apply now to make room
