Rooting after Update

so I gave my brother the phone and he decided to update it without asking me breaking my root that I had on the phone.

Since I am not very familiar with rooting, I wanted to know if it was still possible for me to rerooting the phone if I do a factory restore.

Also what is the best way to root my galaxy SII?

you can root 2.6.35 ... i got my info from xda ..you will have to sign up over there but they have a bunch of good info
