Root rooting and tethering

Can the Incredible 2 be rooted? If so, can someone please send me a link? Will this enable me to tether with Verizon?

Go to the "All Things Rooted" section of this forum. This first two sticky's explain how to root.

If you are running Android 2.3.4 you will first need to downgrade the phone to 2.3.3. There is a sticky explaining how to do this. After you downgrade you can root the phone.

After you root, I recommend getting Barnacle. I use this to tether my rooted phone.

How do i check to see what version i have on my phone?

Go to settings then scroll down to the bottom and select About phone. In there you should see software. Click on that and you will see your Android version.

If this is a new phone or if you installed the latest OTA update from Verizon then you are definitely at version 2.3.4.
