Root Rooting and Updating?

Hi guys! I'm a noob to the forums, and Android itself

I just got my Vibrant from T-Mobile about a week ago and I'm clueless about a couple things. Now I've been reading up on rooting and i was wondering.

Would it be a problem if i root my phone now and update it to 2.2 Froyo later?

I was thinking of using akaskriller's methods for this.

I would also do the "lag fix" and the overclocking.

does any of this also void the warranty on the phone?

You can root and still receive the OTA for Froyo. But if you start loading custom ROMS you will not receive the OTA.

Check out Ryans OCLF 2.2 in the market, that will root your phone and install the easiest lag fix out there.

ALSO! is it a problem if i root the phone and it's already had the update? I'm currently running Firmware: 2.1-update1. should i flash it back to stock?
