Rooting Android... stick?

Bought an Android "stick" (38 Euros): (MK808 Dual-Core Android 4.1.1 Google TV Player w/ 1GB RAM / 8GB ROM / Wi-Fi / TF / HDMI) from Chinese manufacturer via DealExtreme

and noticed it has some shady apps built-in (of course). So, Id like to root it, but I dont know if it is possible.

Sometimes off-brand devices are already rooted. Try installing the superuser app and see whether you can then access root privileges (use a root checker to test - can get both from the Play Store).

Otherwise your best bet might be the Google TV forum.

Most pre-rooted cheapies dont even need a superuser app. Got two that access root stuff without it.
