Root Rooting, backup and ICS

nvm. to reset it to how it was before i failed to rooting do i run the ruu .exe thing and then my cellphone will be unrooted, back to stock and normal again?
 
With your phone in its current state, I'm not entirely sure what the RUU would do.

You'd need to match the RUU with the s/w version previously on the phone. do you recall what that was?
 
I got banned there yesterday, after one of the admin raged at me and said i should run "fastboot oem rebootRUU" and run the .exe file with the RUU.

How do i use the fastboot oem rebootRUU??

By rooting, you void your warrantee... you will not be able to get HTC to fix it for you, as they will be able to tell that you have rooted!

Really sorry... not used one myself. El P mentioned something about being able to do it with the aahk a little further up (again, something I can't comment on though - sorry!)
 
There is only older version of android on the hack kit...

And what is i choose a wrong version of the "3.12.405.1"?? I am not sure if that was the right one before i rooted.
 
IDK which state i am in now, but the solution is just to download the RUU .zipfile and install it from bootloader? What if i have a different number than i remember? (HTC WWE - 2.3.5 (Sense 3.0) - 3.12.405.1)? And i remember i have to downgrade the 3.12.405.1 or something when i rooted. Can I have more explanations?

Oh, and btw. They said that HTC is very kind in my country, the salesman said that he have encoutered ppl with rooted phone that want back to stock and got it for FREE (the warranty was broken) and if i sendt it in and they dont want to take it on the warranty they charge 66 USD :)

Sorry - I have no experience with ruu's... wouldn't like to tell you something and it be wrong!
 
Potetsjokolde, earlier in the thread you said you had successfully rooted the phone. Do you still think that's the case or were you mistaken?

If the phone is rooted, your best bet is to just install a custom ROM to get the phone working. Then you'll be able to use an RUU. Try this:

- Remove the battery from the phone
- Put the battery back in and hold volume down + power until you get to the white menu
- Navigate with the volume buttons and select recovery with the power button
- Pick the option to do a factory reset.
- Go to mounts and storage and pick the option to mount USB storage
- Put this .zip on your sdcard
- Hit the option to unmount the sdcard
- Go back to the main menu and pick 'install zip from sdcard' >> 'choose zip from sdcard' >> pick the cyanogen .zip
- Once that's done, go to the main menu and tell it to reboot

That will leave you with a working phone (running cyanogen). Now you should be able to run the RUU just fine.

Now, if that doesn't work, then we can assume that the original rooting of the phone didn't actually work. If that's the case, it should be possible to flash official HTC firmware without an RUU, but please try the above first.
 
Fixed it, running ICS now, just got battery drain... I got no more battery after like 5-15 hours...

What is this Titanium backup thing? And if i get any problems now, how can i get back to stock? Just run the ruu .exe?
