is there a root for dl09 yet?

i just updated, lost my root
i tried z4root, superonclick and manual
(Fascinate)

cant get anything to work.

i can get th # prompt but then get unable to chmod /system/bin/su: read only file

any help out there?

have you checked if you have root access now? could have worked just except the su part

yep, i tried going back into adb shell, and got the $

also tried starting barnacle, and got needs superuser

no pop ups, im stumped

it all looks to work fine, but doesnt seem to

well tried again shti morning, with the new 1 click files, same thing
it appears to work, everything goes fine

but it doesnt take
even did a reset

do i need to remove superuser and start over?
whats the best way to do that?

or is there a re-rooted odin flash i could do?

i can attempt it, just need to know what files and what order :)

this doesnt seem as easy a flash process as my omnia

over at AndroidCentral. Pay attention to post #21 to get one click to work.:)

I haven't rooted yet because I'm a Mac user and I can't find any guides on that. Also, odin is only windows. :(

did that, no work for me :(

after that failed, i even tried to put a pause in there, and nothing
ive tried every method out there and nothing

What exactly is odin? do i have to use that? seems like a lot of people don't really want to use odin. I was hoping to do 1 click. I have done the incredible root in the past. cant remember what it was called though pretty easy.

Im having the same problem..... I was rooted using z4root prior to the maintenance update. Now I'm no longer rooted but supersuser icon is still there even after factory reset. My macbook will no longer read the usb mount either??????? I also tried to re-root with z4 and it wont take.:confused::confused::confused:

odin is a leaked samsung program (supposedly) that is used to flash firmware to your device

im of the thought that since rooting isnt something that should be taken lightly, that if you want to root you should familiarize yourself with programs like this....really its not that bad if you sit down and read through some info :)

What exactly one click program or method are you referring to? Can you please provide a link?

Just for future reference and a good reminder for everyone, please provide as much details as possible when putting down success stories so others can be sure they are doing it correctly and get the same successful results as you.

I just used this method:
Samsung Fascinate: Rooting - CyanogenMod Wiki

It worked fine for me. Only thing was that when it said I should wait until the ADB shell closed and restart a new one, it never closed. I had to exit out of ADB, unplug the USB cable, plug it back in and start a new ADB shell. It did work though. TB says it got root access and if I use ConnectBot to ssh into my phone and su, I get the # superuser prompt.
