Root Rooting failed cannot boot

I was trying to root my nexus 4 by the following steps:
- Download and copy the file `UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.43.zip` to /sdcard/
- Download the file CWM 6.0.3.5
- Got into Fastboot/Bootloader Mode on Nexus 4
- Execute the command `fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.5-mako.img`
-
Choose RECOVERY from the Fastboot menu and enter Recovery Mode
- In ClockworkMod recovery

I had the same issue when I was trying to root. My issue was that I didn't restart my phone after unlocking the bootloader. The problem is that it NEEDS to reboot into stock recovery to wipe data. And wiping data from CWM doesn't work. This is what I did to fix it.

Fastboot the stock recovery image (PM me if you need a copy of it). Then relock the bootloader. Then unlock the bootloader and restart your phone. This will force it to wipe data through stock recovery. Then, after rebooting the phone, fastboot cwm again. Then go to recovery and you should definitely be able to flash supersu this time around.

Hope that helps!
