Root Rooting for Success

Hi All,

I've been trying to root my HTC Desire HD on and off every few months for over a year following various different tutorials over the net with no success.

I want to try the AAHK, but I don't know if after all the things I've tried if the bootloader is unlocked or not, or if I've tried AAHK before.

Please help me get rid of all these bloody horrible stock apps...

Hi.

Could you go into Settings > Power > and disable Fast Boot.

Than power off the phone. Press the volume button down and press power (with the volume button depressed) and right down what you see on the screen?

That will give us the current status of your phone.

your phone must be bootloader locked, disable antivirus, windows defender, firewall..there is step by step how you can do all this things..it's vary easy..and it's vary important to READ THE MANUAL...

Your phone is locked and S-ON. I would recommend going with AAHK. It will give you root, S-OFF and creates a gold card all in one step.

Take a look at this thread to get an idea of the steps.

When you are good to go, and decide what method to use please post here. There are several official Guides, and unofficial Guides , active in this forum, all very knowledgeable. We are at different time zones, so don't be surprise if different ones pop in and help you out.

If you decide to go with AAHK, you will have to disable any antivirus program when downloading, extracting and while actually using it.

htcdev is a solid,reliable means of adding root access so that other exploits can work

if all you need is root to run a couple root only apps,and maybe delete some bloat htcdev unlock can be OK... but if you want to flash roms,and modify other partitions,it leaves much to be desired,and has some disadvantges.

id pretty strongly recomend to use the aahk to become s-off and superCIDed. if you happen to be on a software version that has no temp exploits,we can help you unlock and root with htcdev so the aahk will work.

just download and run it as ral described and let us know how it goes. just make sure to read the effin manual!
