Root [Rooting help] Jellybean update makes PDanet no longer work

hello my htc evo 4g lte phone recently went through an upgrade [i believe it was Jellybean] and now i can't use my foxfi or pdanet. I need to bypass the Sprint Hotspot. When i tried rooting the phone through recovery, it crashed. Any help would be sooo welcomed

Did you root before accepting the update? What do you mean when you say "root through recovery"? Do you mean you tried to flash a new ROM? And we'll need some info to help you better:
Hboot (bootloader) version
Are you s-on or s-off
Which recovery you have
Did you take the latest update (3.16)
