should have deleted it...
and the file you moved...
try clicking it and pressing install...
it should now be in your app drawer
 
the first time i accidentally clicked uninstall because i didnt know what long pressing was. I never had a phone like this. then i deleted it and replaced it with yours.
So now its supposedly installed and says uninstall if i bring up the menu

so its installed... open up the app drawer and open the app..

Im 21 and this is my first phone lol how sad :(. I got it working now

not in the camera app that comes with the phone
some apps from the play store have this feature... i recommend 'camera zoom fx' but its a paid app

and dont worry about not knowing some things... we all start from the beginning
 
glad everything worked out... if you ever need more help, you can start a thread in the 'all things root' section (people are more active in that section) or you can pm me or other users directly
 
no prob! i do have 1 last thing.
On the home screen where the big clock is with all the apps, under the clock its
now showing my latest friends activity on facebook. It used to show the date / weather i. How can i put it back to that

those aren't apps, those are called widgets
i would help but im running a custom rom (a customized version of android) and i can't provide exact directions for changing or adding widgets since my screen looks different... but look for an app called 'personalize' and look for a mention of widgets in there...
 
yea i figured it out it was the SKIN and something else :)

i cant find how to put the wifi , 4g, hotspot, bluetooth shortcuts back though.
those arent in the show all apps

Long press the screen where your wallpaper is, choose "widgets" and choose them :) should be there in that menu
 
I have a question about the new update. If my baseband is baseband 1.09.00.0706 do I need to get the 1.14 update? I dont feel like unrooting

I dont wanna do that. I really only rooted so I could tether for free and for some game emulator apps. So there is really no reason to unroot if I have the new baseband then right?
 
Well, its optional like I said. I mean, I would suggest the OTA if its available if you get the SMS radio shortage error. If you don't, then its not required.

Awesome work Itmays! That's great that you breezed right through it without any Android background. This should inspire the fearful! And the Big Deal is, you now own and control your phone, it doesn't own and control you. You've proven you can find and follow technical details and collaborate with experts. Now you just got to figure out what to do with it now that you own it :D Technology is at ground zero right now, and we are in for an exponential technological explosion over the next five to ten years. At 21, being open and willing will take you far.
