Rooting HTC Hero With A MAC Book Pro

Ok, I have been trying to root my Sprint Hero for awhile now. I have the android SDK installed, but after that I have no clue because all the posts are giving directions for PC users. I am very new to this so I was wondering if anyone could help by giving step by step instructions for MAC users, or even send me to a post that has these. Sorry for posting a new thread because I know its obnoxious, but i'm kind of at a dead end!!

Thanks

Just download the rom of your choice to your SD card and the gapps if the rom is not a sense rom. Perform a full wipe (data, cache, and davlik cache) then flash rom and gapps. First you will have to install a recovery image and create a nandroid backup.
Have you read through the thread? We walk him through step by step and will tell you the exact process. Sorry I'm posting through my phone so it's hard to get to in depth.

updates? We want to make sure you made it through the process ok :)

srk, I got him through it. He moved over to the "Time to root my hero thread" if you want to check it out. It took awhile but he was able to get gb up and running around 1am this morning.
