Root rooting issue

I am trying to use unleashthebeastv0.2.zip from this post.

I follow the basic instructions listed in the post:
Installation Instructions:
1. Download unleashthebeastv0.2.zip
2. Rename to update.zip
3. Place on sdcard (the built in card, not the removable)
4. Boot into recovery mode
(shut off phone, then hold power, volume up, & volume down at the same time)
5. Select "Reinstall Packages"
6. Enjoy, you have now Unleashed The Beast!

I have done steps 1-3. When I try #4 which is turning my phone on while holding the volume buttons I see a yellow triangle with a digging android and a message says do not turn off target. What went wrong? To get out of that screen I take the batter out and the phone will again boot up as normal.

I have already successfully done this process on my previous captivate which I had to send back because it had the hibernate crashing issue.

Please help.

You got into Download Mode, and not Android Recovery

Try this: shut off phone, hold both volume keys and power. Keep holding the keys and you'll see the AT&T splash screen, wait for it to go away, and wait for it to reappear again. Once you see the AT&T splash screen again, let go of all buttons.

Thank you. I guess I wasn't holding the volume buttons long enough. I didn't even know about the down load screen. That's what was throwing me off.

You sure you want to be using UTB? It hasn't been updated in forever and there are lots of reports of people trying it these days and having serious issues afterward.
