Root Rooting Kindle Fire 2012

Hi guys,

I have a Kindle Fire that I got as a gift years ago and never used. I have identified it as a Kindle Fire 2012 (SN starts with D026), and it's running 10.5.1.

I've been searching for rooting instructions and I haven't found anything that seems to be specifically for this device. Anyone have experience with rooting this thing? I'm willing to take some risk, as it will go unused otherwise.
