Rooting my SGS2

Northern

Newbie
Hey.
I'm considering to root my galaxy s2 and I'm a little worried about the warranty.
Is it possible to unroot it in such a way that my operator won't deny me my warranty.
Also, is it really necessary? Some people say that with a good hardware as SGS2, changing the rom isn't even necessary. So, should I even consider it?

Thanks.

I can't speak directly for the SGS2 and the roms but the devs for most phones will be able to provide plenty of options you can't get stock. There are also other options with rooting that you can't do stock like removing bloatware and changing LCD density that don't involve using a rom.

Most phones have ways to unroot for warranty purposes and I haven't heard of any phone that leaves a trace if you root it and unroot it, nor have I heard of a way for an carrier to tell the phone has been rooted so you shouldn't have any issues with that.

I am unable to tell what carrier you have or what version of the SGS2 so I can't direct you to the proper all things root section so you can look at custom roms for your phone as well as if there are unrooting methods available.

I always root, there is almost always a way to get back to "stock"

I need to research the GS2 a little more though, I should be getting mine on Friday and will most likely be rooting it next week. Because of the way I am getting it, I have to be able to return it to stock if needed (I am getting it cheap and a super cheap plan because I sell the phone)

Northern what carrier are you on (if you are in the US) or are you using an international version of the SGS2? If we know that we can see what custom roms offer above and beyond the stock experience.
