Root Rooting problem

I have a galaxy s vibrant and i have tried many ways to root the phone but every time the phone goes into recovery i hit install update.zip and i get a verification failed notice.

I have
Firmware version 2.2
Baseband version I9000UGJL2
Kernel version 2.6.32.9
shout@leeSEP-09 #3
build number FROYO.UGJL2

Any info on the rooting problem would be great.
Thanks

Welcome to the forums, sorry for your difficulty.

I was in the neighborhood and saw what was going on.

The rude attack you've received has earned the poster in question a 14 day free pass to Banlandia.

Next time either of you are set upon that way, please use the !Report button.

I don't have your phone, but I will say the #1 problem for every Android rooter with update.zip is that their browser will conceal known file type name extensions and they often end up with a file actually named update.zip.zip - doesn't necessarily sound like your issue, but just in case, I'm tossing that out there for your consideration.

Try toggling the signatures when you install the update.zip. See if that helps at all. Also maybe try downloading another update.zip file just in case the one you have is missing data.

I rooted mine "successfully" with super one click, but i might add that i have had nothing but problems with my phone since rooting and suggest you read up extensively before you root your phone

It sounds like part of the 2.2 update made rooting a little difficult. Is this the case?

Baseband version I9000UGJL2

This is the part that concerns me. This is NOT a T-Mobile Vibrant anything, and if you are using it on a T-Mobile Vibrant, I would guess that this is the cause of a lot of your problems.
