Root Rooting question............

assuming you can answer 'yes' to all the questions in Kelmar's last post, have you tried formatting your SD card? i don't know if that will help or not, but i thought i'd throw it out there, since the error does mention the SD card. you can format on your phone:

settings-SD card and phone storage-unmount SD card-format SD card

it will remind you to back up anything on your SD card that you want to keep, since it will erase everything.

also, do you know if you plan to install a custom ROM that runs on ext4? you may not know about that at this point, but if you do, you could try this link for rooting your phone.... it will make it ready for an ext4 ROM:

That did not help anymore suggestion. I've tried to delete out update.zip from the sd card it would not delete. The one click root did not show up in the phone.

just to make absolutely sure, you downloaded the one-click root to your computer(not your SD card), extracted all files, then clicked on the one that says 'run'. that should open a window on your computer that says something like 'press any key to continue'.... then, with usb debugging enabled on your phone, plugged in your phone to your computer, and pressed any key? lol, sorry if that's exactly what you did... just trying to make sure. if you did all that, then i'm not sure what is going wrong :confused:
 
ok so i used this youtube link which didn't require root to get 2.2 froyo on my epic...it was extremely easy!!

so now i am 2.2 with DK28....does this mean i can flash any ROM that required DK28 simple by putting ZIP on my SD and flashing thru clockwork and have no issue? just making sure before I move forward in making my epic badass...thanks again.
